(Psalm 99)

I. God is the holy King (1-3)

A. Often rejected (1 Samuel 8:7), He should be respected
B. Cherubim (Genesis 3:24; Ezekiel 10:18-19; 1 Samuel 4:4)
C. Zion today is the church, God’s people (Matthew 16:18)
D. God is great and awesome (Psalm 47:2); God is holy!

II. God is the holy Judge (4-5)

A. Loves justice (Micah 6:8)
B. Establishes equity – “right things” (Proverbs 8:6)
C. Executes righteousness (Psalm 71:19)
D. Worship Him all over the globe (Isaiah 66:1; Matthew 5:35); God is holy!

III. God is the holy Guide (6-9)

A. Calling upon the name of the LORD is obedience to Him (Matthew 7:21; Joel 2:32; Acts 2:21; 22:16)
B. Forgiveness is available (Acts 2:38; 1 John 1:9)
C. Forgiveness does not remove temporary consequences (Galatians 6:7)
D. Exalt and worship God (John 4:24); God is holy!
