What Do They See When They Look At You? What Do You See When You Look At Them?

I. On the outside looking in

    A. Those “on the outside” are…

      1. …outside the church and Christ Himself (1 Corinthians 12:13; Galatians 3:27)
      2. …in the world (1 John 2:15-17)
      3. …lost (Luke 15)

    B. What do they see when they look in?

      1. Good things? (Matthew 5:16; Galatians 6:2, 10)
      2. Bad things? (1 Corinthians 5:1, 6-8; Galatians 2:11-13)

II. On the inside looking out

    A. Those “on the inside” are…

      1. …in Christ and the church (Romans 6:3-4; 1 Corinthians 12:13)
      2. …added to the saved by Christ (Acts 2:47)
      3. …born again (2 Corinthians 5:17)

    B. What do we see when we look out?

      1. Souls in darkness, in need of Christ’s blood? (Matthew 9:35-38)
      2. Responsibility toward those souls? (Matthew 28:19-20)
      3. An attractive alternative to Christianity? (Luke 8:14; Hebrews 11:25)
      4. Temptations to return to the world? (2 Tim. 4:10; 2 Peter 2:18-22)
